The members of the national wrestling team returned to Norway after winning the runner-up position in the World Championships in Norway, welcoming the Minister of Sports and Youth and the President of the National Olympic Committee and the enthusiastic presence of the people.
According to the government’s information base, quoting the news site of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, members of our national wrestling team returned to the country tonight through Imam Khomeini Airport after participating in these competitions, and were warmly welcomed by the people, Minister Hamid Sajjadi. Sports and Youth, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, President of the National Olympic Committee, other officials of the Ministry of Sports and officials of the Wrestling Federation and their families were present.
The World Wrestling Championships were held in Oslo, Norway from October 6 to 7, with Meysam Delkhani (63 kg), Mohammad Reza Garai (67 kg), Mohammad Hadi Sarvi (97 kg) and Ali Akbar Yousefi (130 kg) winning gold medals. Mohammad Aligarai in the weight of 77 kg and Pejman Pashtam in the weight of 82 kg won bronze medals. The Iranian team also became the runner-up in the team ranking with 146 points. The teams of Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan came first and third with 152 and 107 points, respectively.
